In an era in which cannabis has been declared an 'essential item' in the midst of a healthcare crisis of epic proportion - the use of THC has been a mainstay for many who are treating everything from anxiety to depression and more. It's imperative for patients to find balance - U.K. researchers at the Department of Psychosis Studies, Institute of Psychiatry at Kings College in London wrote about the effects of prominent cannabis use and tolerance.
People who use THC will quickly build a type of immunity to the plant constituent but what's widely debated is how to reduce this while the patient continues to utilize their cannabinoid medicine. One highlight of this research that's very important is that Cognitive function is the domain showing the highest degree of tolerance - and this means the large portion of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in our brains is being effected more than other arena's of the vast highway of molecules and more by the higher level of THC use.
They stated the acute intoxicating, psychotomimetic, and cardiac effects are also blunted upon regular exposure, but to a lesser extent (partial tolerance). Limited research also suggests development of tolerance to other behavioral, physiological, and neural effects of cannabis. The ECS is a crucial and complex molecular system of receptors, molecules, and enzymes that requires balance.
What many researchers have leaned towards is lack of efficacy - such as in this study - but what literally few to none have done is give us science that shows how to engage the system in a way that allows THC use and does not increase a tolerance to the point that causes an extreme lack of efficacy - in other words how do we use THC without it losing it's awesome ability to heal.
Many in the world of cannabis media have indicated a 'tolerance break' would be the answer - but most that use plant based alternatives are using it instead of a pharmaceutical. Asking someone to stop using THC for a period of time is like asking a Valium user to 'not take the pills' for a few days - it's nonsensical. Of course that valium user would have a better response after starving their system for days - but that didn't fix anything.
When it comes to THC Tolerance the only thing that's going to free the mind is going to be finding a happy medium as our system was created for endocannabinoids and what's going on is the plant cannabinoid is hijacking it and causing a reduction in the endorphins while also reducing the 'landing pads' for THC when it's used as when there's a lack of endocannabinoids there will be a lack of receptors as well.
Balancing the Endocannabinoid system has always been an essential key to reduction of tolerance and this research delves into this subject and why it's imperative for people to use more than a single cannabinoid. While most search for a way to relax in a time that's filled with stress - the number one reach is for THC - and without other plant constituents being used the individual will quickly lose that balance and the THC becomes ineffective.
The research study highlights the following:
*Cannabis has less prominent effects in regular users compared to non-regular users.
*The behavioral and physiological effects of cannabis lessen over repeated exposure.
*The acute effects of cannabis are less prominent during Δ9-THC active maintenance.
*Cognitive function is the domain showing the highest degree of tolerance.
*The acute intoxicating, psychotomimetic and cardiac effects show partial tolerance.

The Challenge was created based on my daughter's response to the efficacy of Cannabinoid Medicine and research provided by a compassion program I once ran that gave away free oils. Everyone in the world of cannabinoid medicine, cannabis, hemp, and the surrounding industries now has the ability to join in to make a big difference in disabled children's lives while promoting the benefits of Cannabis/Hemp.
